Our Sarongs are inspired by 1940s starlet Dorothy Lamour, who starred in a number of South Pacific-themed films and musicals back in the Golden Era.
Our version features our trademark bodice design – close-fitting, lined and lightly boned to help sculpt the torso into the quintessential vintage shape with a gently cinched waist. The flattering wrap skirt is finished with an elegant waterfall ruffle, that cleverly works to downplay an abundance of curves, yet create the illusion of more in slim-hipped ladies.
When made up in whispering satin, these beautiful dresses are the perfect choice for a demure war bride-to-be in shining white or ivory; and in our range of jewel-toned satins, they are ideal bridesmaids frocks, prom dresses and cocktail gowns. Slip on a pair of your highest heels and a matching bolero, and dance the night away in perfect 40s style.
My daughter looked wonderful in this for her wedding.
