Picking up your slacks!

Vivien_sMother_200My mother used to love sailing, when I was a young girl one of my favourite photos was of my mum as she was leaning against a sailboat dressed in loose fitting trousers and a slash neck top. I thought it had such simple elegant style it has always stayed with me. Unable to get those beautiful Hollywood fashions that adorned the likes of Katherine Hepburn and Rita Hayworth she was actually wearing an old pair of her fathers trousers. I love the fact that unlike her I can create my dream wardrobe filled with such fabulous classics now. While the days of make do and mend led to some wonderful ideas in fashion nowadays we don’t have to wear our fathers trousers.

Our trousers have a classic 1940’s cut updated for the modern figure. High waist, low crotch and the cutest side button detail and cuffs on the bottom. Each season we choose a different range of fabrics to make these classics in. This time we have remade our denim and chosen a crisp cotton drill to give more of a firm drop. This fabric also has no give so may fit a bit tighter than last seasons soft fabrics.

On the navy we have added an anchor motif for a cheeky nautical theme. These trousers look fabulous teamed with one of our Jojo or Raglan blouses. But also look great with our Slash Neck tops. We have Red in stock now with classic Black and Navy alongside the new addition of Forest Green arriving next week. You are really being spoilt for choice!

All our range is now being made as limited edition to make sure you always have fresh choices for your wardrobe, so if you don’t fancy the crisp drill you can wait for our Winter range that will be made of a nice cozy flannel for the colder weather. We’re sure think of everything here at Vivien of Holloway!
