Bombshell Navy Sateen Dress

The "Bombshell" dress certainly lives up to its name! What a stunner! I tried it in navy as I wanted a cocktail dress that was elegant but not black. The dress fits snuggly to the body and the bodice is boned for those who do not want to wear a bra underneath it. The skirt is fitted enough to give a sashay as you walk, but is loose enough for sitting. My only reason for not giving the dress 5 stars is that the straps are about an inch and a half too long, although the dress can be worn strapless with the straps tucked down the sides (as I did). (Suggestion: adjustable or detachable straps for the future?) The bolero adds the final touch to ward off chilly shoulders. It certainly created a lot of interest when I wore it!

...what an amazing dress! I was a bit reluctant to purchase a fitted dress, as they don't normally fit me very well, but after buying a pair of Vivien of Holloway trousers which fitted perfectly, I thought I'll give a pencil dress a go and I was not disappointed. I had the serious shapewear on standby, but the Bombshell Dress does it all for you, the boned bodice gives amazing shape to the torso and the skirt fits like a glove. It's also an incredibly versatile dress, I originally bought it for a black tie event, but I have since worn it with a pretty cardigan during the day and it's equally perfect. My measurements are 34 -26-39 and the size 12 fits great. As I'm a bit on the short side (5'2") I had the hem taken up and the straps shortened. Well worth the money, I'll be back for more.
