HOW TO MEASURE YOURSELF

We get a lot of questions about sizing and fit. All brands have their own size chart there is not one international guide.

Here at Vivien of Holloway our dresses are unusual as they are made to fit a specific body shape. If you have an hourglass figure you have just struck gold. Our brand caters to a shapely figure to fit and accentuate your curves with a totally flattering fit.

So here is a brief on how to measure yourself.

The most important measurement at Vivien of Holloway is the waist. This should be measured tightly. Our boned dresses are really fitted and will pull you in to this measurement. Most of the other styles have a 2 inch ease from this measurement. So still measure tightly but know they will not cinch you in.

An example is I wear an 18 in all the styles pulled tight my waist measures 32 measured loosely a 34.

Your waist can be found at the smallest point between your ribs and belly button.

This may seem like a lot of trouble to go to but when you get your dress and it fits like a glove you will understand.

Please note your bra or jeans size are of no relevant.

More fitting information

Most listings carry specific information on the fit of each garment and fabric.

Cotton and satin fabrics in the boned styles tend to be the least forgiving.

Sateen has a little give. Crepe tends to come up large, it is just how the fabrics react.

Also if you have a small bust, because we allow some ease on the non-boned garments Kitty or Lana you could find you can size down.

Once again we do try to give fit information in all listings.

Now, to find your perfect fit just follow these simple instructions.

BUST (1) Please measure around the fullest part of your bust. The style will allow for a couple of inches either way.
This is NOT your bra size

WAIST (2) Measure your waist as tight as you can at the smallest point just above the belly button. This is usually the measurement that decides which size you will buy. You can allow for a few inches difference on the bust measurement before you have to deviate from your waist measurement.

HIPS (3) Please measure around the fullest part of your hips.

If you follow these instructions you should be able to find your perfect size. The waist is the most important measurement to take accurately, to ensure a flattering fit. How to care for your VOH garments

To keep your garments in top condition we recommend you dry clean all our garments.
