Back in Full Swing

As a youngster there was a church youth club on a Sunday night at the top of our street. A few older kids hung out there that were into Rock’n’Roll. Before this I had only seen old movies,  but here it was in real life. The girls & boys were boppin’ around a record player in circle skirts and brothel creepers to the sounds of Bill Haley.

I went home and nagged my Mum rotten till she gave in, bought the fabric and helped me make a circle skirt. Though if I remember rightly we didn’t have enough money for real satin like the girls were wearing, and so it was made out of purple silky lining fabric and it wasn’t quite a circle as she didn’t get quite enough fabric. But to me at 10 years old I thought I was cool as! Haha! Luckily there are no surviving photos.

Since this weather just can’t make up its mind, we have made a selection of colours and fabrics in our Circle Skirts. As well as the gorgeous Florals we have introduced some staple colours in Flannel to keep you cosy on those chilly days. The Tartans are on their way back as you all loved them so much last year!

Why not match one of our bright coloured Circle Skirts and a Gypsy Top trimmed with vintage Ric-Rac for a great Halloween look. Brilliant Glamour…add Day of the Dead face paint and you’re sorted!
